Deep Dive
Ripple has executed the largest single mint in the history of its RLUSD stablecoin, minting 69 million RLUSD directly on the XRP Ledger (XRPL). On-chain data indicates these tokens are routed toward the Gemini exchange.
The RLUSD Treasury has shown significant activity over the past week, managing the stablecoin's supply through multi-million dollar mints and burns on both the XRPL and Ethereum networks. Notably, 20 million RLUSD were minted on Ethereum on February 27, following approximately 10 million minted two days prior.
RLUSD's market capitalization has now surpassed $1.5 billion, according to CoinGecko data. This growth is attributed to a surge in exchange integrations, institutional partnerships, and supply expansion in recent weeks.
Binance officially listed RLUSD for spot trading in late January and completed the technical integration for native XRPL support in mid-February. The exchange is offering an 8.5% Annual Percentage Rate (APR) for RLUSD holders.
In mid-January, the LMAX Group, a UK-based institutional exchange, announced a multi-year partnership with Ripple, which includes integrating RLUSD as a collateral asset.
