BitGo Europe GmbH has launched its crypto-as-a-service offering across the European Economic Area (EEA), enabling fintechs and banks to integrate regulated crypto custody, trading, and fiat on- and off-ramps under the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework. BitGo's custodial wallets are insured up to $250 million, subject to terms, and feature configurable policy controls and 24/7 operational support. The platform supports the buying, selling, and holding of Bitcoin (BTC) and other digital assets within a partner's existing interface, with settlement managed through BitGo’s infrastructure. This offering was previously available in the United States via BitGo Bank & Trust and is now operational in Europe through BitGo Europe GmbH, the company’s locally regulated entity.
BitGo, established in 2013, provides custody, wallets, staking, trading, financing, stablecoins, and settlement services to institutional clients globally. The company went public on January 22, trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker BTGO. As of Tuesday, BitGo stock was trading at $10.20, down approximately 1.6% for the day and about 20% since its IPO.
The rollout aligns with the broader growth of regulated custody infrastructure in Europe following MiCA's implementation, as financial institutions formalize digital asset services under the EU's licensing regime. Many banks are opting to collaborate with specialized crypto companies instead of developing in-house custody systems.
