According to VERTIX, the biggest issue lies in what he calls “volume without conviction.” On the surface, Avantis appears to have strong trading activity. The charts show massive volume, but VERTIX points out that much of it comes from farming flow rather than genuine investor demand.

He describes this as “DeFi’s oldest trap,” where incentives boost total value locked (TVL) temporarily. Once those rewards dry up, liquidity quickly disappears. Avantis gained early credibility by securing listings on top exchanges like Binance and OKX. For many projects, that kind of exposure leads to a strong and sustained rally. Yet, as VERTIX explains, institutional listings alone did not solve the deeper problem.

He notes that while big listings brought attention and short-term capital, they did not attract long-term believers. “Smart money came for quick yield,” he said, not for building conviction in the ecosystem. Without real yield or utility, that capital simply moves to wherever the next high annual percentage yield (APY) appears.

Another key point from VERTIX’s analysis focuses on what he calls “the yield disconnect.” He compares Avantis to protocols like GMX and Injective (INJ), which have managed to convert volume into actual protocol revenue.

In contrast, Avantis continues to rely heavily on emissions and token incentives. That means the system pays users to participate instead of earning fees naturally from usage. As long as that continues, AVNT price remains at the mercy of market sentiment rather than genuine economic growth.

VERTIX argues that Avantis must evolve from an emission-based model to a revenue-based one if it wants to sustain its ecosystem. Until then, every rally risks being temporary.

Why Avantis Needs a Real Catalyst

Despite the challenges, VERTIX acknowledges that Avantis is not without potential. He mentions features like Cross-Margin and Vaults 2.0 as promising developments but notes that they alone are not enough to drive the next wave of growth.

For Avantis to regain momentum, it needs a strong ecosystem driver that creates “sticky liquidity.” This could come from real-world asset (RWA) integration or strategic partnerships such as LayerZero that expand interoperability. Those kinds of updates can transform short-term interest into long-term engagement.

In other words, the problem is not just about yield or tokenomics; it is about creating reasons for users and developers to stay.

The Psychology of Conviction in AVNT

VERTIX also highlights something deeper — the psychology behind token holding. According to him, retail users rarely stay just for yield. They stay for belief. They hold tokens that represent something beyond short-term rewards, whether it is utility, culture, or identity.

Avantis, he suggests, needs to build that kind of narrative. Without a story that connects to its community, even the most impressive technology can struggle to hold attention. This is especially true in a DeFi landscape filled with dozens of similar yield-focused protocols.

What Whale Accumulation Could Mean for AVNT Price

Interestingly, VERTIX notes that despite the weak sentiment, whales have started quietly accumulating AVNT around the $0.54 to $0.70 range. These buyers, he says, are not chasing hype but positioning for the long term. Historically, such periods of low enthusiasm often set the stage for new uptrends.

That does not mean an immediate rebound is guaranteed, but it suggests that some large holders still see value in Avantis at current prices. Whether that accumulation turns into real momentum will depend on how effectively the project addresses its structural issues.
