On October 15, WhiteBIT, one of the largest European exchanges and the official cryptocurrency partner of FC Barcelona, hosted an exclusive Institutional Night at the FC Barcelona Museum. This private gathering was organized for its partners and key players in the digital assets and blockchain industry.
The event attracted over 100 C-level industry leaders, representing institutional traders, investment banks, stablecoin issuers, prime brokers, and Fintech players. With stablecoins significantly transforming financial infrastructure and playing a major role in global money movement, attendees engaged in discussions about the future of digital assets and the evolving role of the supporting crypto ecosystem.
An Exclusive Evening at the FC Barcelona Museum
Attendees were treated to a private tour of the FC Barcelona Museum. This museum offers an immersive experience through the club’s storied history, showcasing its extensive collection of trophies and memorabilia, alongside interactive exhibits celebrating football legends like Lionel Messi.
Guests also had a unique opportunity to meet Bojan Krkić, a former FC Barcelona forward and now the club’s Football Department Coordinator. Krkić welcomed the attendees and spoke about the critical importance of trust, teamwork, and shared values. He drew parallels between the principles of football and business, emphasizing how strong partnerships maintain the sport's authenticity and its connection with fans worldwide.

The Panel: Challenges and Opportunities in Institutional Stablecoin Adoption
A central element of the event was a panel discussion titled “From Trading to Treasury: Challenges and Opportunities in Institutional Adoption of Stablecoins.” Sergii Bulgakov, WhiteBIT Chief Commercial Officer, moderated the panel, which featured executives from Paxos, VanEck, and Franklin Templeton. These participants represented distinct pillars of the emerging financial architecture: stablecoin issuance, digital asset trading, and investment banking.
Once primarily viewed as a proxy for crypto trading, stablecoins are now gaining traction within corporate treasuries and global payment systems. A representative from Paxos stated, "People use stablecoins because it’s an effective form of commerce. They remove friction, volatility, and offer 24/7 settlement — making it a perfect vehicle for exchanging value across borders."

The panel highlighted that this efficiency can also benefit corporate treasuries. According to a representative from VanEck, "Corporates can use stablecoins to optimize their cashflow and earn extra yield on stablecoin balances, making it an alternative investment tool."
Innovation within the stablecoin sector continues to accelerate. Paxos recently introduced the Global Dollar Network, aimed at making regulated, dollar-backed assets accessible globally. Franklin Templeton's Benji tokenized money market fund serves as another example of successful integration between traditional finance and blockchain technology.

The panelists emphasized that a significant transformation is underway as traditional finance shifts from account-based systems to wallet-based ecosystems. In this evolving landscape, stablecoins are poised to become the settlement layer for global monetary flow. With Citibank projecting the stablecoin market to reach $4 trillion by 2030, a substantial portion of the global population may be using them daily, potentially without explicit awareness.
