A growing number of digital asset supporters believe the foundation for a new global financial system has already been laid, and XRP could be at its center. Among them is prominent crypto commentator Lord XRP (@Bitforcoinz), who recently detailed why he continues to hold the asset.

His reasoning ties back to Ripple’s decade-long involvement with governments, major banks, and international organizations shaping the digital payments landscape.

Reasons for Holding XRP

Lord XRP stated, “I hold XRP because Ripple’s the chosen one to lead the new global digital payment system, and they use XRP.” He noted that Ripple’s involvement with central institutions dates back to 2013, when the U.S. Federal Reserve first explored faster payment options.

Two years later, the Federal Payments Task Force was formed, and Ripple was the only crypto-focused company included in the initiative. He also pointed to a 2014 report by the World Bank and the Better Than Cash Alliance, which mentioned Ripple’s technology as part of future payment opportunities.

Lord XRP emphasized Ripple’s expanding influence through global partnerships and affiliations. He referenced the Better Than Cash Alliance, which includes the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Clinton Global Initiative, and over thirty governments, all in line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals for 2030.

He also noted that the UN’s official exchange, Xange, utilizes XRP for its carbon credit solution, demonstrating Ripple’s integration into real-world financial systems. He also pointed to the upcoming transition to ISO 20022, the new international messaging standard set for adoption by 2025.

Ripple’s network, he explained, now includes over 300 financial institutions and payment providers such as Bank of America, American Express, Santander, as well as central banks in nations like Japan, Canada, India, Singapore, and Australia.

Leadership and Expertise at Ripple

Lord XRP highlighted Ripple’s leadership team, composed of former officials from the Federal Reserve, the U.S. Treasury, SWIFT, and BlackRock, along with executives from PayPal, Uber, and Amazon. He noted that Ripple also employs former advisors from the Clinton and Obama administrations.

He added that Ripple maintains an active role in international digital asset forums and initiatives, including the Digital Pound Foundation, Digital Dollar Project, Digital Euro Association, Hyperledger, and the IMF’s High-Level Advisory Board on Fintech. Ripple is also a listed partner of the World Economic Forum (WEF).
