Enhanced Interoperability and Data Access for TON
Chainlink has expanded its Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) and Data Streams to the TON blockchain. This integration connects Toncoin (TON) to over 60 networks, establishing it as a cross-chain transferable asset under the Chainlink Cross-Chain Token (CCT) standard. The integration enables Toncoin and other assets on TON to move securely between networks, while maintaining compliance and performance standards suited for institutional-scale DeFi.
The collaboration also introduces Chainlink’s Data Streams to TON. This provides developers with access to low-latency, real-time market data, which is crucial for trading, lending, and derivatives applications. By integrating with the same data and interoperability infrastructure used by other major Layer-1 blockchains, TON enhances its appeal to builders seeking speed and liquidity.
Strengthening the TON Ecosystem
This development occurs as TON continues to solidify its position within Telegram's expanding blockchain ecosystem. Recently, Telegram CEO Pavel Durov announced Cocoon, a decentralized AI compute network built on the TON blockchain. This network allows GPU owners to rent computing power in exchange for Toncoin and is slated for integration with Telegram's mini-apps and bots starting in November.
The combined initiatives with Chainlink and Telegram signal a rapid evolution of the TON ecosystem, addressing infrastructure and real-world use cases. The effectiveness and sustainability of these advancements will become clearer in the coming months.
