Software Dev Reveals What Will Happen When XRP Hits $100

XRP community member and software developer Vincent Van Code has recently argued that minor fluctuations in XRP's current trading price will become negligible if the digital asset eventually reaches the significantly higher valuations that many investors anticipate.

In recent weeks, XRP has traded within a narrow band between $2.20 and $2.60, attempting to recover from the October 10 market decline. After touching $2.69 on October 27, the token has since retreated to about $2.49, recording three consecutive daily losses.

During this pullback, XRP’s market capitalization declined by more than $8 billion, even though its unit price fell by only $0.14.

While such fluctuations are meaningful to traders operating on short-term timeframes, Van Code emphasized that long-term investors should avoid focusing on minor price changes. His position reflects a broader investment mindset within the XRP community, one that prioritizes the potential for large-scale gains over short-term volatility.

Small Price Gaps Become Meaningless Over Time

Van Code recalled that he once felt uneasy about purchasing XRP at $0.80, having previously accumulated the token at prices near $0.20. At the time, paying more for the same asset seemed like a poor decision. However, his perspective changed as he began evaluating the market with a longer-term outlook.

He noted that when an asset appreciates significantly, small differences in the initial purchase price fade in importance. For example, if XRP were to achieve a future value of $100, the difference between buying at $0.20 or $0.80 would hardly matter. In both cases, the investor would still see exponential gains.

Historical data provides some context for this argument. XRP traded for as little as $0.21 in January 2021 before climbing to $1.96 by April that year. After the broader market downturn in 2022, it fell to $0.29, only to rebound above $0.90 by mid-2023. As of today, the asset trades at roughly $2.55, maintaining steady performance despite market uncertainty.

Long-Term Confidence in XRP’s Future

Van Code’s optimism stems from the belief that XRP could one day reach valuations similar to early Bitcoin levels. In 2011, Bitcoin fluctuated between $3 and $12; now it trades above $110,000. For those early investors, the difference between buying at $3 or $12 became irrelevant once the price increased more than ten thousandfold.

Using this logic, Van Code suggested that if XRP were to climb to $100, minor differences in entry prices today would have little bearing on eventual returns. For instance, an investor spending $50,000 at $2.18 would obtain 22,935 XRP, while another buying at $2.55 would acquire 19,607 XRP.

If XRP reached $100, those holdings would be valued at $2.29 million and $1.96 million, respectively.

Although the two investors would see different absolute gains, both would achieve life-changing profits. In Van Code’s view, this underscores the importance of long-term conviction rather than obsessing over short-term entry points.

While Van Code’s scenario assumes that XRP could reach $100, a target that remains speculative, his broader argument centers on investment discipline. He maintains that price fluctuations within a small range should not distract holders from the potential long-term value of the asset.

For now, XRP’s short-term movements continue to capture market attention, but voices like Van Code’s encourage investors to evaluate the asset through a longer lens. Whether XRP reaches those projected highs or not, his remarks highlight a growing maturity in how parts of the crypto community assess value beyond short-term trading cycles.
