Leadership Strengthened for Public Debut

Securitize has appointed Jerome Roche as its new general counsel to strengthen its leadership team ahead of going public. Roche, who previously served as PayPal’s Head of Legal for Digital Assets, will play a crucial role in shaping the company’s legal and regulatory strategies.

Roche’s experience in blockchain technology and digital assets, particularly at PayPal, positions him to support Securitize as it navigates complex legal landscapes. He oversaw PayPal’s expansion into crypto and the launch of its stablecoin, PayPal USD (PYUSD), during his tenure.

With this background, he is expected to help Securitize meet its goals as it prepares for its public debut.

Securitize Targets U.S. and EU Markets for Tokenized Securities

Securitize is pushing forward with its plans to tokenize real-world assets while staying fully compliant with U.S. and European regulations. The firm has demonstrated that tokenized securities can be offered to U.S. investors within the existing regulatory framework, challenging the common belief that such products need to be issued outside the U.S.

The company’s platform is designed to handle real securities on-chain, operating under U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)-regulated infrastructure.

This allows U.S. investors to legally hold and trade tokenized securities. Securitize’s CEO, Carlos Domingo, emphasized that this regulatory approach is scalable and offers institutional-grade solutions for tokenization.

Securitize has also secured regulatory approval in the European Union to operate as an investment firm and settlement provider. This approval positions the company as a major player in the digital securities space, with a dual-jurisdiction strategy in both the U.S. and EU.

The firm views tokenized assets as a key part of the future of global capital markets, believing their adoption will increase significantly in both regions.
