Ripple (XRP) continues to achieve significant milestones, particularly with its stablecoin, Ripple USD (RLUSD). The weekly transfer volume of RLUSD on the Ethereum (ETH) network has now exceeded $1 billion.
RLUSD Achieves $1 Billion Weekly Volume Milestone
Data from on-chain analytics firm Token Terminal indicates that RLUSD's volume on Ethereum (ETH) has surpassed the $1 billion mark as of today. This achievement comes approximately one year after Ripple launched RLUSD at the end of last year.
“The fact that a stablecoin has maintained its supply less than a year after its launch suggests that RLUSD is providing stable usage.”
Growing User Base and Distribution
Token Terminal also reported that the number of RLUSD holders has increased eightfold since the beginning of the year, reaching approximately 6,000. The analytics firm highlighted the significance of this growth, stating, “The fact that the increase in the number of holders is keeping pace with the increase in supply means that the supply is not concentrated in a few addresses but is distributed.”
This development follows another major achievement for Ripple USD (RLUSD), which surpassed a $1 billion market capitalization less than a year after its launch in early November.
Comparison with Stablecoin Giants
While reaching a $1 billion market capitalization is a substantial accomplishment for RLUSD, it still remains considerably smaller than established stablecoin leaders. For comparison, Tether (USDT) boasts a market capitalization of $184.5 billion, and Circle's USDC has a market capitalization of $76 billion.
