Ethereum transactions can now be preconfirmed in just a fraction of a second with new technology from an Ethereum infrastructure platform. Primev states its FAST RPC (Remote Procedure Call) allows transactions to be preconfirmed and set for inclusion in blocks in under 200 milliseconds. This capability enables operations such as Ether (ETH) transfers, smart contract interactions, and non-fungible token (NFT) minting at significantly increased speeds.
Preconfirmation serves as an early signal from a block builder indicating that a transaction is likely to be included in the subsequent block. Block inclusion, on the other hand, refers to the actual addition of a transaction into a block.
RPCs, such as FAST RPC, function as intermediaries connecting crypto wallets to blockchain nodes. This connection is essential for users to send transactions and interact with decentralized applications on the blockchain.
From a user's perspective, the 200-millisecond transaction speed theoretically rivals high-speed layer 1 blockchains like Sui, where transactions are typically confirmed within a similar timeframe.
Primev's founder, Murat Akdeniz, shared a live demonstration on X, showcasing a near-instant ETH transfer using the Ethereum self-custody wallet MetaMask. He reported that this transaction was preconfirmed in 377 milliseconds and included in the same block.
Akdeniz mentioned that his team has dedicated over two years to "supercharge Ethereum" to achieve these performance levels.
Ethereum L1 is painfully slow 😩

Can devs PLEASE fix this?!?
For 2+ years, the @primev team has been grinding to supercharge Ethereum mainnet.

FAST RPC Has Not Yet Been Tested at Scale
Currently, the most widely adopted RPCs on Ethereum are Infura and Alchemy's solutions. While these platforms are slower than Primev's FAST RPC, they benefit from a significantly larger node distribution and have a proven track record of reliability under substantial network loads.
Infura, developed by Consensys, is utilized by over 400,000 builders to connect with the Ethereum network. Alchemy, in parallel, facilitates more than $150 billion in transactions annually for over 100 million users globally.
Despite this, Primev's FAST RPC solution has the potential to offer considerably faster transaction processing for users who prefer to remain on the Ethereum mainnet rather than migrating to Ethereum layer-2 solutions.
FAST RPC Offers Ease of Setup
Primev's FAST RPC solution is designed for straightforward integration. Users can connect their crypto wallet, such as MetaMask or WalletConnect, and then replace the existing RPC endpoints from Infura or Alchemy with FAST RPC.
Following the connection, users are required to deposit funds into Primev's designated "gas tank" at the wallet address "0x24A...c2ACf" to enable seamless on-chain interactions.
