Retired rapper Iggy Azalea is moving her MOTHER memecoin to Thrust, a new Solana-based token launchpad built for creators. The platform, launched today, is reportedly made for creators, artists, and celebrities who want to build real projects in crypto.
Azalea has joined Thrust as a creative director and partner, sharing that she plans to help build a more sustainable and engaging community.
“I’ve sort of been sitting dormant trying to figure out how can I create some sort of real revenue to put back into what we’re doing,” Azalea said in a statement as she explained that she wants her token to do more than just trade. “How can I do more live events? How can I give more to the community? How can we be more interesting?”
A New Approach for Celebrities in Crypto
Thrust plans to combine blockchain technology with entertainment contract law to ensure that celebrities and their fans both benefit from token launches. Co-founder Jake Antifaev said that every project on the platform will be carefully checked before it launches, and each launch will be bound by a contract that outlines deliverables for celebrities and protects fans from pump-and-dump schemes.
The platform is designed for people who want to contribute long-term. “We want people who are committed to creating experiences for their fans and actually want to be here and contribute,” he said. Unlike older sites like Pump.fun, which allowed anyone to launch a coin, Thrust will only approve verified creators.
Future Plans for MOTHER Token and Beyond
The platform’s first token will feature Twitch streamer N3on, while Azalea’s own token, “MOTHER,” migration is expected by the end of the year. She also said actress Megan Fox is reportedly preparing to launch her own token at Art Basel in December.
Thrust has hired a crypto law firm, Croke Fairchild Duarte & Beres, to handle its contracts and protect users.
To keep trading fair, Thrust will not use the bonding curve model, a pricing system used by many meme token launchpads, where prices rise as more people buy in. This system can create hype, but it also often helps bots and early insiders who buy early and sell for fast profits, leaving regular fans at a loss. Instead, all presale money will go into the token’s liquidity pool, which will make the prices more stable.
Azalea said her goal is to help artists stay involved and “build real community.” She added that 1% of the new MOTHER token supply will go to community events, including “huge parties” at Sydney’s Luna Park.
Azalea's Continued Involvement in the Crypto Space
Iggy Azalea entered the crypto scene in May 2024 when she launched her MOTHER memecoin on the Solana blockchain. Based on her status as a celebrity, the token quickly gained interest but stood out because Azalea tied it to real-world uses and community projects.
She later allowed her fans to use the token to buy phones and mobile plans through her telecom company, making it one of the few celebrity coins with practical use.
Building on that, Azalea announced Motherland, an online casino launched in November 2024, which only accepts MOTHER tokens. Additionally, it features casino games like slots, blackjack, roulette, poker, and even sports betting, blending entertainment, culture, and cryptocurrency.
