The India Blockchain Week (IBW) Conference, the premier two-day event anchoring the extensive India Blockchain Week series of over 100 Web3 events in Bengaluru, has concluded with remarkable success. This year's edition underscored India's significant growth as a global center for Web3 innovation. Despite facing high taxation and an undefined legal framework, India has consistently maintained its position as the leading country for cryptocurrency adoption for three consecutive years, boasting 115 million users.
Held at the Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield Hotel & Convention Center from December 2-3, the IBW2025 Conference attracted more than 3500 attendees from over 40 countries. The event convened Web3 builders, investors, legal experts, and various stakeholders, providing a platform to delve into the evolving landscapes of blockchain, artificial intelligence, real-world assets (RWAs), and regulatory developments.
Throughout the week, over 80 supplementary events, workshops, and social gatherings were organized by Indian and international blockchain industry players. These events offered attendees ample opportunities for networking, idea exchange, partnership formation, product exploration, and community engagement.
India Web3 Landscape Report Highlights Key Trends
Hashed Emergent, the organizer of the flagship IBW2025 Conference, unveiled its 4th annual India Web3 Landscape Report during the main stage proceedings. This comprehensive report, developed in collaboration with knowledge partners CoinSwitch, DevFolio, Pi42, Jetking, Growth Protocol, and TriLegal, offers insights into the startup ecosystem, investment trends, adoption rates, the developer community, and policy and regulatory frameworks within India's Web3 sector. Several key findings from the report include:
- •Indian Web3 startups attracted $653 million in funding during the first ten months of 2025, marking a 16% increase compared to the $564 million raised in the entirety of 2024.
- •India is home to over 1250 Web3 startups operating across the finance, infrastructure, and entertainment sectors. Collectively, these startups have raised $3.5 billion to date, demonstrating the breadth and depth of innovation across multiple sub-sectors.
- •India reinforced its status as a primary Web3 hub in 2025, ranking first globally in blockchain adoption for the third consecutive year and securing the second-largest developer market. Builders are actively pushing the boundaries in areas such as AI, Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks (DePIN), Layer 1/Layer 2 solutions, RWAs, and stablecoins.
- •Centralized exchanges experienced a significant surge in activity in 2025. Trading volumes for prominent cryptocurrency tokens increased by 114%, accompanied by a 27% rise in new traders.
- •The demographic of young investors, aged 18-35, now constitutes approximately 75% of active users and accounts for half of the total trading volumes. While metropolitan areas continue to lead, contributing 64% of invested value with Delhi alone representing nearly one-fifth, increasing accessibility is steadily drawing tier-2 cities further into the market.
- •In 2025, the growth rate of women traders was nearly double that of men across Tier-1, Tier-2, and Tier-3 cities, indicating a broadening and more inclusive investor base.
- •Global Web3 investors maintain strong confidence in India's potential, with ecosystem funds actively supporting the market, even as domestic funds remain more reserved.
Tak Lee, CEO of Hashed Emergent, commented on the findings, stating, "India's market has already demonstrated extraordinary readiness for the next phase of Web3. What we must now focus on, together, is creating the right environment for this innovation to scale responsibly. Builders are moving fast, global investors are doubling down, and India’s digital public infrastructure has created a foundation few countries possess. By working collaboratively across industry and policy, we can design frameworks that protect consumers while enabling India to engineer the open, AI-enabled financial systems that will shape the next era of global commerce. When talent, capital, and regulation move with shared intent, India has the momentum and capability to define the future."
