Despite Binance being the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, CZ expressed a desire to expand its presence in the U.S. market. In a surprising move, U.S. President Donald Trump pardoned CZ, following advice from multiple sources who believed that he had not committed any crimes. CZ had previously served a brief sentence for failing to maintain an effective anti-money laundering program, though his attorney emphasized that there were no fraudulent activities or victims involved.
