Fableborne, a competitive mobile action RPG, announced its global open beta on December 2. The new release by Pixion Games has already attracted 380,000 players.
Fableborne is working to revitalize the on-chain gaming experience, having already garnered over 108,000 daily active users. The game's open beta launch was announced shortly after a $21.5 million presale raise for its native NFTs. Fableborne's release comes at a time when many play-to-earn and NFT games have seen significant player attrition.
The game's model presents a highly appealing modern format, featuring fast-paced sessions, strategic challenges, and gaming seasons. Seasonal play is a primary driver of activity, positioning Fableborne among top-trending games. Fableborne combines dynamic RPG elements with a long-term progression arc.
"Fableborne has always been built to feel like an excellent mobile game first and foremost. Players have responded to that focus in every season. This Open Beta is our most significant step forward, delivering more content, competition, and a player-driven progression system that gives everyone something meaningful to fight for."
Kam Punia, founder and CEO of Pixion Games
Fableborne enables players to conduct raids, defend their islands, and ascend the leaderboard within each season. Islands represent a player's long-term strategy, while building heroes involves a mastery-building arc over time. The game's design has achieved a weekly retention rate of 25% to 51% across seasons.
The new open beta version introduces additional content, competitive features, and social connections designed to foster a growing community engaged in active play. Previous seasons recorded over 2.4 million playing sessions, with an average duration of 32 minutes. Pixion Games intends to further reward mastery and encourage player return for each new season.
Fableborne Offers Optional Web3 Engagement
Fableborne is the gaming component of the POWER ecosystem, an integrated program that combines gaming, Web3 activity, and AI to deliver a new generation of scalable consumer applications. The game utilizes the POWER protocol for incentives tied to progression, offering long-term ownership. On-chain ownership is an optional feature for players.
Punia stated that Fableborne prioritizes player experience, with the option for ownership to be added later. Players can opt to engage with the POWER token, which will also serve as a reward for engagement, content creation, and programmable rewards.
Season 4 is currently open and available to all players with a Pixion ID. The Fableborne Guild Season is scheduled to commence on December 8, offering $15,000 in Diamond incentives to sponsor gaming guilds.
Fableborne Relies on Previous VC Funding
Fableborne has planned its return for 2025, following the testing of less viable models by other games. The game raised $12.4 million in this year's funding round, bringing its total from VC funds to $17.9 million.
The game's private placement secured additional funds, preparing for a competitive launch.
