A sudden transfer of 50 million XRP, valued at roughly $123.8 million, from Ripple executive Chris Larsen to an unidentified wallet prompted strong reactions within the XRP community.

While such wallet movements are not uncommon in the digital asset space, this particular transaction led to fresh speculation about potential coordination between Ripple and U.S. regulatory entities.

Remi Relief (@RemiReliefX), a well-known community commentator, shared his perspective shortly after Whale Alert reported the whopping transaction. He suggested that the transfer might signal deeper activity behind the scenes, outlining two main possibilities.

One involved the idea that Ripple and the U.S. government could be working together during the shutdown period to finalize certain projects. The other centered on the belief that spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) tied to XRP might be approved unexpectedly through procedural “loopholes.”

He linked the timing of the movement to what he described as a potential effort between Ripple and government entities, suggesting that the shutdown could be a strategic window for progress on regulatory or market initiatives.

Why Did Larsen Transfer 50 Million XRP?

Shortly afterward, Larsen provided context for the wallet movement. In a post on X, he congratulated the Evernorth team on its launch and revealed that he invested 50 million XRP in the firm. He described Evernorth as filling “the missing link in XRP capital markets” and expanding the token’s use in decentralized finance.

Evernorth positions itself as a platform dedicated to building infrastructure that connects XRP liquidity with decentralized finance applications. The firm, designed to operate as a public XRP treasury, has announced plans to go public through a merger expected to raise over $1 billion in gross proceeds.

It aims to develop products that make it easier for institutions and developers to integrate XRP into lending, trading, and other DeFi mechanisms. Larsen’s 50 million XRP investment represents one of the largest individual contributions toward that goal, reflecting Ripple leadership’s continued commitment to expanding XRP’s role within decentralized finance.

Remi Relief later released an update confirming that the tokens had been sent to Evernorth. However, he maintained that his earlier statements about potential government cooperation and ETF approvals still stood. He argued that even though the funds went toward a legitimate investment, the timing and conditions surrounding the movement kept his original theories relevant.
