A Solana-based memecoin reached a new all-time high on Tuesday following a controversial social media campaign targeting prominent crypto industry figures. Chill House surged over 68% from an $18 million market capitalization to $30.24 million within seven hours after its X account publicly criticized Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin and other blockchain leaders.
The token combines the viral TikTok meme Chill Guy with Housecoin, a project originally aimed at disrupting the housing market. Its mascot features Chill Guy's body with a house-shaped face. The Chill House X account has launched increasingly aggressive posts targeting major figures across multiple blockchain ecosystems.
Social Media Provocations and Market Reaction
The Chill House account posted inflammatory remarks directed at Buterin and the Ethereum Foundation, attracting over 100,000 views. The post tagged both Buterin and the official Ethereum account, though the co-founder has not responded. The provocative strategy appears designed to generate attention and drive speculative trading activity.
The insults followed identical posts directed at Coinbase executive Jesse Pollak, Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko, and prominent Solana builder Mert Mumtaz. All three replied to the provocations, unlike Buterin. Chill House then shifted focus to crypto influencer Slingoor, whose favorite token, Unstable Coin, was briefly overtaken in market capitalization during the surge.
The token briefly closed a five-minute candle above its previous all-time high market cap of $29.1 million, set in August. Prices subsequently retreated to a $19.1 million market cap as investors took profits, according to DEX Screener data. Despite the pullback, Chill House maintained a 27% increase over 24 hours and showed gains exceeding 500% across the prior seven days.
Unstable Coin reclaimed its position above Chill House following the price correction, settling at a $22.8 million market cap, per DEX Screener. The competing token gambles on the downfall of stablecoins, positioning itself as an inverse bet on the sector's continued dominance. The brief market cap flip added fuel to the social media confrontation between the projects.
Engagement with Industry Figures and Ecosystem Exploration
Late last week, Chill House posted similar inflammatory content directed at Pollak, the head of Base network. Pollak attempted to "ratio" the post by getting more likes, but fell short of that goal. Crypto podcaster Cobie, whose company Echo was recently acquired by Coinbase, suggested he needed to teach Pollak proper social media tactics.
Following the exchange, Chill House announced it would migrate to Base, an Ethereum layer-2 network. When Pollak provided genuine technical advice on bridging to Base, the meme coin account responded playfully before ultimately maintaining its Solana presence. The flirtation with Base migration appears to have been part of the broader attention-seeking strategy.
Chill House then targeted Alon Cohen, founder of Solana token launchpad Pump.fun, where the meme coin was created. After posting similar inflammatory content directed at the Solana Foundation while tagging Yakovenko and builder Mumtaz, the account eventually reconciled with the Solana ecosystem. This cycle of provocations helped the token maintain elevated trading volumes and social media visibility throughout the week.
