This new service is integrated with two of the country’s most popular digital payment platforms, Yape and Plin. This expansion aims to bring real-world cryptocurrency payment capabilities to millions of Peruvian digital wallet users, representing a significant step in bridging traditional finance with the digital economy across Latin America.
Empowering Peru’s Digital-First Economy
Peru has experienced a substantial surge in digital wallet adoption in recent years. Both Yape and Plin reported serving approximately 14 million users each in 2024. The new integration with Bybit Pay allows Peruvian consumers to utilize their existing Yape QR codes and Plin phone-number transfers for cryptocurrency-backed payments. These payments can be made both online and at local merchants, combining the established familiarity of Peru’s trusted payment methods with the innovative potential of digital assets.
This strategic partnership places Bybit Pay at the center of Peru’s rapidly evolving cashless economy. In 2024, Yape handled 54% of in-person transactions, while PLIN managed 34%. Research indicates that over half of Peru's adult population currently uses phone-based digital wallets.
By leveraging the extensive local networks of Yape and Plin, Bybit Pay users in Peru can now access a range of new functionalities:
- •Pay with QR Codes: Users can employ existing Yape QR codes to make instant cryptocurrency payments at participating merchants nationwide.
- •Transfer Money by Phone Number: Secure Plin phone-number transfers can now be executed, backed by users' cryptocurrency holdings.
- •Shop with Digital Assets: Access to payments is now available at both e-commerce platforms and physical retail locations.
- •Enjoy Fast Settlement: Transactions benefit from near-instant confirmation and enhanced security features.
The platform in Peru supports multiple cryptocurrencies, including USDT, USDC, BTC, and ETH, along with other major digital assets. These are automatically converted to facilitate seamless Peruvian Sol (PEN) transactions.

To commemorate the launch, Bybit Pay is offering exclusive rewards for users in Peru:
