As of 12:00 AM KST on January 16, Bitcoin (BTC) was trading at 141.24 million KRW on South Korea’s Upbit exchange, down 0.65% from the previous day. On global exchange Binance, BTC was priced at 140.98 million KRW, reflecting a price gap of 260,000 KRW and a kimchi premium of 0.18%.
Altcoin Premiums in the Korean Market
Ethereum (ETH), the leading altcoin, recorded a kimchi premium of 0.19%. Other major altcoins also showed similar premiums: Solana (SOL) at 0.19%, XRP (XRP) at 0.23%, Dogecoin (DOGE) at 0.38%, and Sui (SUI) at 0.13%. Most top altcoins are currently trading with a premium in the 0.1% to 0.3% range.
