XRP and the XRP Ledger Positioned for Market Expansion
Finance commentator Zach Rector has presented a detailed outlook suggesting that XRP could benefit from a multi-trillion-dollar market expansion driven by tokenization and institutional adoption. According to Rector, the rapid integration of blockchain technology into global finance positions XRP and the XRP Ledger (XRPL) to capture a share of an emerging market potentially valued at up to $30 trillion within the next decade.
Tokenization: The Next Major Financial Shift
Rector highlights the tokenization of real-world assets (RWAs), such as real estate, commodities, debt instruments, and private equity, as one of the most significant developments in modern finance. He cites estimates from Ripple and the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) suggesting that the total value of tokenized assets could reach between $12 trillion and $23 trillion by 2033, with a conservative upper range of $20 to $30 trillion moving on-chain over the next ten years.
He explains that XRP’s future growth will likely depend less on retail speculation and more on its ability to bridge tokenized assets, support liquidity, and provide settlement mechanisms for institutional-grade financial activity. In his view, this represents the next evolution beyond XRP’s established role in cross-border payments.
The Role of Regulation and Institutional DeFi
A key factor in Rector’s forecast is the introduction of clearer regulations, referred to broadly as the upcoming Clarity Act, that would define how digital assets interact with traditional finance. Rector argues that such legislation would give institutions the confidence to adopt decentralized finance (DeFi) frameworks built on the XRP Ledger.
He believes large-scale institutional DeFi has yet to emerge on XRPL because most holders have focused on accumulation rather than liquidity provision. However, once clearer compliance standards are in place, he expects financial institutions to develop regulated DeFi products and settlement tools, leading to a gradual but steady expansion in XRP utility through 2030 and beyond.
Ripple’s Expanding Institutional Network
Rector also points to Ripple’s recent acquisitions and partnerships as critical steps toward positioning XRPL within global financial infrastructure. He notes that Ripple Prime (formerly Hidden Road) will enable institutional clients to move post-trade settlement onto XRPL, potentially handling very large transaction volumes at minimal cost.

In addition, Ripple’s purchase of GTreasury connects the company to thousands of banks and corporate finance departments worldwide. Other collaborations, including with Securitize, BlackRock, and VanEck, involve projects to tokenize money market funds and allow on-chain redemption through Ripple’s dollar-backed token, RLUSD. Rector interprets these moves as groundwork for real-world utility beyond retail trading.
Liquidity Is the True Value Driver
Rector cautions that tokenizing assets alone will not automatically raise XRP’s price. Instead, he emphasizes that liquidity and transactional demand will determine the token’s value. He notes that the combination of Ripple’s partnerships, XRPL’s decentralized exchange (DEX), and new automated market maker (AMM) features could enable the ledger to handle large-scale institutional liquidity.
In his view, the long-term outlook for XRP depends on whether these liquidity flows materialize and whether XRPL continues to attract major financial players seeking compliant, low-cost settlement solutions. While Rector describes his projections as optimistic, he maintains that the convergence of regulation, infrastructure, and institutional integration could position XRP at the core of a new era of financial tokenization. He concludes that XRP’s success will ultimately depend not on speculation, but on how effectively it serves as the liquidity engine of a tokenized global economy.
