XRP community member and game designer Chad Steingraber has outlined what he considers the two most critical factors influencing XRP’s price: capital flows and the pace at which they occur. His comments arrive at a time when XRP is struggling to maintain upward momentum following a decline below $3.
After falling under this psychological level, XRP managed to hold support around $2.60 before rebounding slightly. According to Steingraber, recent exchange data highlights $2.68 as a significant threshold, where outflows have continued to exceed inflows.
Despite this, he argued that XRP’s ability to remain stable at this level suggests the market may be forming a sustainable price floor.

In a recent exchange with traders on social media, Steingraber stressed that net flows alone do not fully explain price action. While net flows indicate whether more capital is entering or leaving, the rate and intensity of these movements, what he terms velocity, are equally important.
For example, he noted that a rapid inflow of $1 billion within a day would likely create substantial upward pressure on price. By contrast, the same amount spread across an extended period might generate little impact.
This distinction underscores why some assets react strongly to sudden bursts of buying, while others show muted price changes despite consistent inflows.
Steingraber emphasized that both the direction of flows and the speed at which they occur must be considered when analyzing potential price movements. In his view, the balance between outflows and inflows, combined with how quickly capital shifts occur, will be decisive for XRP in the coming months.

Anticipation of XRP ETFs
His analysis comes as the market awaits regulatory decisions on several proposed XRP exchange‑traded funds (ETFs). Firms including Grayscale, 21Shares, and Canary Capital have applications pending with U.S. regulators, with rulings expected this October. Franklin Templeton is scheduled for a decision the following month.
Recent reporting from journalist Eleanor Terrett confirmed that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has asked ETF issuers for XRP and other digital assets to withdraw earlier filings due to new listing standards.
Bloomberg analyst Eric Balchunas clarified that the revised framework was anticipated and makes previous filings redundant. Although the exact launch timeline remains uncertain, industry observers consider approvals highly likely under the updated process.
Optimism surrounding these products centers on expectations that they will attract significant institutional capital. Canary Capital CEO Steven McClurg recently suggested that XRP ETFs could draw as much as $5 billion in inflows during their first month of trading.
