FalconX, a leading institutional cryptocurrency broker, has announced the launch of its 24/7 OTC options trading platform, Electronic Options.
FalconX has launched an electronic options trading platform that supports 24/7 trading, according to The Block. The platform aims to address the inefficiencies of traditional over-the-counter (OTC) options, which require manual intervention, by introducing automation.
It was stated that the platform currently supports options trading for Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), and Hyperliquid (HYPE) to start.
“The options market is the next big frontier for institutional cryptocurrencies,” said Josh Lim, Co-Head of Global Markets at FalconX. “We built this platform to address long‑standing challenges such as fragmented liquidity and a lack of 24/7 access. With FalconX Electronic Options, our clients now have the same trading quality our OTC desk is known for, but in a format designed for scale, distribution, and true 24/7 access.”
FalconX’s move comes amid growing adoption in the crypto options space overall, with CME Group recently announcing plans to launch options for SOL and XRP futures products in addition to BTC and ETH, while Coinbase acquired crypto derivatives exchange Deribit in August.
